Risnjak National Park
The old-growth forests of Gorski Kotar, just above Rijeka
Risnjak is the closest national park to Rijeka — barely forty minutes inland, in the heart of Gorski Kotar. Dense fir and beech forest, mountain meadows and the source of the Kupa river make it the coolest and greenest of Croatia's parks, and it is known for its lynx, bears and wolves.

Getting there
The park entrance at Crni Lug is about a 45-minute drive from Rijeka and roughly 1 hour 30 minutes from Zagreb via the A6 motorway and a local road. We drive you straight to the entrance and wait for your agreed return.
